I'd like the Director of Digital Engagement to...

Promote digital equality

Without digital equality we exclude a large portion of society from effective engagement with government. We can't push government into the digital age and leave a signifncant minority of people behind.

Agree. there is a large digital divide, and it is mainly caused by poor connectiivity. Income and age are minor factors compared with the number of people who experience disasters trying to watch Iplayer or youtube and failing because of poor lines, contention and capping. This puts people off and gives the internet a bad name. To promote digital equality we need to invest in the infrastructure in order to deliver a high standard of connection to everyone, not just those in cities. This idea gets my vote. Also agree that you shouldn't 'push' government into the digital age, if they don't get into it themselves then it is their loss and they will soon find themselves on the scrapheap and more forward thinking people will take their jobs.
